ELDAT
expands its installations and enters North America
Tel
Aviv 16.6.99
Eldat Communication has completed the installation of its first ESL system
in North America. The system is installed in a Catalano's store in
Cleveland Ohio. The 10,000 label store is being installed and serviced by
ICL USA, as a part of its "Global Store" concept.
Catalano's, is a family owned grocery store that does not face any local
or state laws regarding price accuracy. "The reason we decided to equip
ourselves with this technology" says Richard Catalano, vice president and
son of the company's president, "is that we feel that it would be a huge
plus over our competition. There's no question it will help revenues.
Every customer who has seen it so far is completely interested. The tags
are clear, concise, and make updates a snap. We haven't had one negative
comment. That alone is a huge positive step. Eldat's electronic tags are
the best innovation since scanners!"
The 45,000 square foot store stocks about 25,000 SKUs, and Catalano's plan
is to install Electronic Shelf Labels in at least 90% of those items.
"We are very encouraged with this new installation" says Yossi Smoler,
Eldat's President and CEO. "The close cooperation we have with ICL starts
to bare fruits, also in the USA. The technological superiority of our
system is a fact that is now recognized in North America as well as in
Europe. We have received very positive feedback at the last exhibitions we
participated and we are very optimistic about the future."
