Retailers Gain Comprehensive POS, Electronic Shelf-Label System
DALLAS - June 15, 1998 - ICL Retail Systems and Eldat Communications Ltd. are helping retailers increase their pricing flexibility and reduce labor-intensive tasks by integrating their technologies to create GlobaLABEL™, a comprehensive electronic shelf-label (ESL) system. "This product expands retailers' capabilities with a comprehensive solution designed to help them increase margins," said Austen Mulinder, vice president, ICL Retail Systems, North America.
The GlobaLABEL system integrates Eldat's electronic shelf-label solution with point of sale systems, such as GlobalSTORE™, ICL Retail Systems' point-of-sale solution. Both products share an architecture based on open-systems standards and Microsoft® technologies. GlobalSTORE is a comprehensive in-store platform, upon which to build solutions for the rapidly changing retail environment.
ESL systems provide automatic updates of the prices on the shelves, thus eliminating the need for labor-intensive, paper-label maintenance. It also enables pricing flexibility.
GlobaLABEL has enhanced capabilities further than other ESL systems by providing a complete in-store communication solution. GlobaLABEL supports a broad range of integrated in-store applications such as, price verifiers, electronic loyalty programs, customer tracking systems and multimedia advertising.
