As a first step in providing broad technological in-store solutions, Eldat had completed the development of an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system in 1994. Using Infra Red technology, for its many advantages, Eldat has introduced its advanTAG* system - an integrated system of advanced Electronic Shelf Labels and wide variety of other in-store applications. Utilizing a proprietary technology and know how, enabled Eldat Communication to provide state-of-the-art Information Technology (IT) solutions to the retail industry and others, with features never before made available to the retail market.
Based on successful installations of fully operational systems in Israel during 1995, Eldat has started its penetration into world-wide markets in 1996 by primarily approaching the European market. Today Eldat is focusing on both the European and the North American markets, to be followed by penetration to additional high-potential markets.
In 1997, Eldat enhanced its market presence and significantly strengthened its sales channels by forming two major strategic alliances: A world-wide OEM agreement with Siemens Nixdorf, the European leader in providing Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and information technology (IT) solutions to the retail market, and a world-wide distribution agreement with Fujitsu-ICL, a world-wide leading Point-of-Sale systems and retail solutions provider.
